Went to the Indiana School for the blind for our tree, they had cookies and hot coca which was nice in such a cold day. Liz was happy when we found ours. Plan was to go small and well that was certainly what we did …
(Liz won the chili cook-off, hence the pig trophy. We got some snow on the night we went to a champagne tasting, very holiday feeling…)
I went up to watch and be Official Driver for the weekend. Pretty amazing event and of course outstanding effort from Dennis and Karina. For the record, I went for a jog on Saturday night. Nearly 2.5 miles. But, it was pretty cold out, so I stopped. No medal for me I guess!
A rare weekend at the dome and a timely one at that. Liz was not feeling great so she holed up in the Nook for some. Saturday reading and napping. I worked to reduce the piles/stacks of magazines, focusing in all the home improvement ones-reading through and pulling. What was relevant and then getting everything else in to recycling.
We also moved the vouches around and got a fan installed on the stove, which should make it even more of a key player here this season.
Daylight savings isn’t until next week so it’s stupid dark out already when we are trying to get going to work. It’s the season!
Nice shot of Tom Brady losing from last weekend. Bengals won and the steelers also had a game.
Congrats to my neighbors for selling their place which is sorta kitty corner from the dome. It was their second try (they also have a condo) selling it and it’s encouraging that it sold in just a few weeks. Also some
Pics from this week as well as a shot of the rapidly accumulating leaves at the dome
Where did summer go? Some shots…
Liz redid this pathway while I was gone. It was supposed to have grass growing through it, but that never happened so this is a much better solution.
Also had a great visit to Baltimore//Arlington over Labor Day weekend for the Baltimore Grand Prix, and before that mom and dad and Beaux visited as well on a rare weekend home for me…

Been back in indy–between races–for a little bit. Odd to not be based at camp in August, but just keep adapting to change…
I forgot that the Black Crowes were playing in Indy last week, but Liz and I had already decided to go to a baseball game (Indy Indians, the local minor league team that is in cahoots with the Pittsburgh Pirates, sending t hem the best players or something sinister like that..).
It has been unseasonably fall-like here. So after a little summer celebration with some oysters in town, we went to the game for the “low” part of the menu. We hung out in the outfield for the first part of the game to get a little bit of the last bits of sun. We had great seats–there was a two-for-one deal for tickets for the night.
Once the sun fell below the stands, we too went into the shade and got our seats, which were right behind home plate. In fact, our usher pointed out which seats–not the ones we had originally bought–we should go to as he knew what seats were really open.
Had a remarkable thing happen as a foul ball flew up above our heads– making a large BONK when it hit the stadium above us…I was wearing my Rolex Series baseball cap, and took it off to look up to see where the ball had gone. As it happened while I was looking up, fruitlessly looking for the ball…I felt the cap get much heavier, all of a sudden. Turns out, I had caught the ball.
